Does alkaline water taste different?

Most people find that alkaline water has a cleaner crisper taste than bottled water. The Alkaliser’s natural minerals and the micro-clustering of water molecules provide you with a smooth taste that’s refreshing and hard to find anywhere else.

What’s the pH level of the water?

The Alkaliser makes alkaline water with a pH level in the range of 8.5 - 9.5. The Alkaliser automatically starts alkalizing water upon contact. With a few gentle shakes, you can increase the pH of the water or you can let it sit and allow the pH to increase by itself. The Alkaliser makes alkaline water with a maximum pH level of 9.5. Water reaches the maximum pH by itself in 10 mins, or after about 90 seconds of shaking. Shaking the Alkaliser bottle gently for about 30 seconds will give you alkaline water with a pH level of 8.5.

How much water does the Alkaliser water bottle hold?

The Alkaliser water bottle holds about 18 fluid ounces or 550 ml of water.

What is the Alkaliser water bottle made of?

The Alkaliser is made of Tritan 1001 and 2001 plastic. Tritan is BPA free, Bis free, FDA compliant for food safety, and endorsed by the National Science Foundation (NSF).

How long will the Alkaliser water bottle last?

With normal use and regular cleaning your Alkaliser bottle should last several years.

How long will the Alkaliser Capsule last?

The Alkaliser Capsule is replaceable and should last for 3 years and /or 5,000 refills.

Is it possible for the water in the Alkaliser water bottle to return to regular water?

Once water is alkaline, it will stay alkaline. But, it’s pH level may decrease over time. If the water in the Alkaliser has been sitting for more than 30 minutes, reenergize the pH level by giving the Alkaliser a few shakes before drinking.

How long can I keep water in my Alkaliser water bottle?

Stale water tastes bad and can potentially be harmful. Empty the Alkaliser every night to ensure you have great tasting clean alkaline water. But, if you do forget to empty the Alkaliser that’s OK. Water can sit in a sealed Alkaliser for a couple of days with no side effects. Just be sure to clean the Alkaliser bottle and Alkaliser Capsule before drinking from it.

Use & Care

Does the Alkaliser water bottle filter my water?

No, the Alkaliser water bottle does not filter your water. But, it can turn most bottled waters and tap water into healthy alkaline drinking water.

What kind of water should I use in my Alkaliser water bottle?

Filtered water from your refrigerator, faucet, or any other drinking water source is a great choice.

How do I make alkaline water in my Alkaliser water bottle?

Pour filtered water into the Alkaliser. Secure the top of the bottle so water doesn’t leak out. Then, shake the Alkaliser for about 90 seconds. If you want water with a lower pH level, shake the Alkaliser between 30 - 60 seconds.

Can I add lemon or other natural flavorings to the water in my Alkaliser water bottle?

We don’t recommend it. Lemon juice or other natural flavorings have the potential to reverse the alkalizing process and lower the pH level of the water..

Can I use my Alkaliser water bottle to mix my powered supplements?

We don’t recommend this either. The Alkaliser makes great tasting alkaline water that you should use in your protein shakes and with other powdered supplements. But, you run the risk of damaging the Alkaliser Capsule when you mix powdered supplements in the Alkaliser. It’s best to make alkaline water in the Alkaliser and then pour the alkaline water into your supplement mixing bottle.

Should I drink alkaline water with my meals?

No, we don’t recommend drinking alkaline water with your meals. The digestion process requires acidity. Our bodies produce various amounts of acid to help us break down our food into the nutrients we need. Alkaline water can neutralize these beneficial acids that are part of the digestion process. Stop drinking alkaline water 30 minutes before a meal and resume drinking alkaline water 30 minutes after a meal. This should help your body digest your food properly.

Is is safe to take medicine with alkaline water?

We don’t recommend taking medication with alkaline water. Consult the doctor or physician who prescribed your medication if you have questions about taking medication with alkaline water.

Terms & Definitions

What are free radicals?

Free radicals are atoms or molecules that have lost an electron. They're created during natural ongoing biochemical reactions in our bodies, and from external sources.

Why are free radicals harmful?

Free radicals can cause a chain reaction in a biological system, such as our bodies, that can lead to cell death. If too many of our healthy cells die, our bodies may become weak and diseased.

What are antioxidants?

Antioxidants are molecules with an extra electron. They neutralize free radicals by giving their extra electron to a free radical. Antioxidants are able to give away their extra electron without becoming a free radical themselves. This is why they play a vital role in helping us maintain a balance in our bodies.

What is pH?

pH or potential for hydrogen is a way of expressing the acidity or alkalinity of a solution such as water.

What is a pH level?

A pH level is a scale that helps us measure the acidity or alkalinity of water. By measuring the hydrogen ion concentration in the water, we can rate the water’s pH. The scale ranges from 1 - 14. Water with a pH level of 7 is neutral, water with a pH level of greater than 7 is alkaline and water with a pH lower than 7 is acidic.

What is an ORP?

ORP stands for Oxidation Reduction Potential. It’s a measurement of oxidizing agents in drinking water. Water with a positive ORP is oxidizing, and water with a negative ORP is antioxidizing. A lower ORP is better because it provides you with more antioxidants to neutralize free radicals. The Alkaliser water bottle helps to create alkaline water with an ORP of -400mv.

What’s micro-clustered water?

We know water as H20. That’s 2 hydrogen atoms and 1 oxygen atom that form the water molecule. But, there are countless water molecules in a bottle of water. Like most of us, these molecules like to hang out in groups or clusters. In normal drinking water, molecules cluster into groups of 13, but in alkaline water, they can cluster into much smaller groups. This allows them to saturate your body’s cells at a much faster rate leaving you feeling fully hydrated.
